Cadweld Grounding System

The best connections for a grounding system go beyond just the right type; it’s imperative to ensure the connection system is certified to the most recent and rigorous testing standards.

Cadweld meets and exceeds the most rigorous testing standards and product certifications for grounding connections. The list of standards that Cadweld complies to is extensive.

This list includes but is not limited to the following standards:

Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Std. 837-2014

Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers
  • IEEE 837 – IEEE Standard for Qualifying Permanent Connections Used in Substation Grounding - was developed specifically for the evaluation and qualification of grounding connectors for use in the rigorous substation environment.
  • It is the most rigorous testing standard for grounding connections that gives assurance the connection will perform over the lifetime of an installation.
  • Multiple Cadweld connections have passed and exceeded the requirements of the latest edition of the standard. In 2014, a new version of IEEE 837 was published, and this version of the standard has a very demanding testing protocol for testing connections.

UL 467

UL 467 - Grounding and Bonding Equipment
  • UL 467 – Grounding and Bonding Equipment – is the ANSI standard for certifying grounding and bonding equipment. UL 467 applies to grounding and bonding equipment for use in accordance with Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, CSA C22.1, in Canada, the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70, in the United States, or the Standard for Electrical Installations, NOM-001-SEDE, in Mexico.
