nVent HOFFMAN + nVent TRACHTE achievement unlocks innovation to better serve our customers 

A ground-breaking collaboration between nVent HOFFMAN and nVent TRACHTE has yielded a prototype for a cutting-edge Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). This prototype not only meets customer specifications but positions nVent as a leader in the expanding energy storage market and exemplifies our teams’ commitment to driving customer-focused excellence, showcasing design and manufacturing expertise. 

Thanks to the cross-business partnership between nVent HOFFMAN’s design team and nVent TRACHTE’s manufacturing capabilities, an idea to accelerate an integrated BESS solution and refine the design of a modular enclosure became a reality. 

The nVent TRACHTE Texas facility delivered a functioning prototype within three weeks. This rapid turnaround has opened new doors to develop a fully integrated solution. With initial reviews underway, the next phase will involve collaborating with other anchor customers to test and further refine the BESS components like chillers, air conditioning, fluid distribution, leak detection, and gas evacuation. 

The workshop in Texas was a powerful step forward. We united the nVent team with new talent to collaborate on refining the full BESS solution. Together, we defined action points to leverage our business units’ core competencies and align our go-to-market strategy. As we move toward realizing the vision of a complete nVent Battery Protection System, we credit both teams for their contributions. 

As power generation moves toward cleaner, more renewable sources, BESS solutions have become critical in stabilizing the grid, with the industry achieving a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) exceeding 30% over the past five years in North America and Europe. 

By providing systems that are easy to connect, operate, and maintain, we can create value not just for the BESS OEM, but also further down the buyer chain.
