With the EU aiming to be carbon neutral by 2050, it is important for companies in Europe to use natural resources sustainably. At nVent, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) is an essential part of our business strategy, and our products and solutions support sustainable solutions across many industries.  

In 2021, nVent earned a Silver Sustainability Rating from EcoVadis, ranking nVent in the top 13% of companies reviewed in our industry. This was the first year we submitted materials to EcoVadis for assessment. Companies must voluntarily submit information to EcoVadis to be assessed, so benchmarking can only be performed against companies that choose to apply—usually companies that have established ESG programs in place.  

EcoVadis is an independent organization that rates the quality of companies’ ESG management systems based on their policies, actions and measurable results. The EcoVadis assessment process covers a wide range of topics including the environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. The EcoVadis assessment is a valuable tool for both reporting and validating ESG results as well as identifying areas for improvement.

We scored above average in our industry in each of EcoVadis’ four main assessment areas, with our strongest scores coming in the environment category. Our goals played an important role in our positive scores. These goals strengthen our commitment to ESG and help us communicate our progress on important issues.
