Inclusion and Diversity is Part of Our Culture

Inclusion and diversity is about actively welcoming our uniqueness and ensuring each employee’s voice is heard, respected and represented.

Integrating Inclusion and Diversity into Everything We Do

Our focus on inclusion and diversity starts at the top and is woven throughout our organization. The CEO Inclusion Council acts as the governing body for inclusion and diversity initiatives, approving strategy and setting enterprise-wide goals. The CEO Inclusion Council chooses our Inclusion & Diversity Advisory Council members, who act as champions and advocates for inclusion and diversity initiatives.

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are formed by employees who share a common interest, background or experience with a purpose to support each other, foster awareness of diversity and promote inclusion and respect.

Our approach to integrating inclusion and diversity into all
aspects of our business is defined by our inclusion and diversity pillars. Our inclusion and diversity initiatives are a major component of our social responsibility strategy and forward-looking goals.

Our Commitment

We believe the best way to counteract racism and social injustice is to speak up and not be silent. In 2020, our CEO publicly reaffirmed our commitment to stand with people of color and others who feel marginalized and stated that we will not tolerate racism in any form. Internally, we launched a campaign: We will listen. We will talk. We will act. 

We created safe spaces for our employees to share their stories; we hosted panel discussions with experts; we provided weekly updates to employees to build knowledge about these important issues. We continue to expand our efforts through ongoing education, training, listening circles and the activities of our ERGs. We are proactive in our approach to make sure nVent is a workplace where all employees feel valued, heard, respected and can do their best work.
