nVent Launches XTVR Self-Regulating Heating Cables with High Power Retention (HPR) Technology for Freeze Protection and Temperature Maintenance Applications
LONDON – June 12, 2023 – nVent Electric plc (NYSE:NVT) (“nVent”), a global leader in electrical connection and protection solutions, today launched its newest self-regulating heating cable, the nVent RAYCHEM XTVR. Building on the proven benefits of the nVent RAYCHEM XTV heating cable, the XTVR heating cables deliver reliable and efficient performance in higher temperatures and come with more power variants. Designed for use in freeze protection and process temperature maintenance applications, XVR heating cables now have a minimum of 95% power retention after 10 years and a design life of 30 years or more.
Innovative technology and unique product design
Using the same ground-breaking R&D and nano-technology as developed for the nVent RAYCHEM HTV heating cable, the XTVR heating cables also incorporate innovative heating core technology and product design. XTVR heating cables are designed for continuous operating temperatures up to 302°F (150°C) and withstand temperatures up to 482°F (250°C). With more available power variants (7 at 230V and 4 at 110V), a more efficient heat-trace design that closely matches the heat loss of industrial process pipes is now possible. Which, in turn, will help with cost savings on energy consumption and power infrastructure. Retaining the unique construction and flexibility of the original XTV, the new XTVR is as easy to strip and install as its predecessor.
"The XTVR heating cable represents our commitment to innovation and vision of the future in electrification and sustainability," said Brad Faulconer, President, Thermal Management at nVent Thermal. "Our focus on delivering high-performance heating cables with extended product lifetimes is aimed at increasing process temperature maintenance, while also helping our customers achieve their sustainability goals."
Superior performance and longer design life
Including the same High Power Retention (HPR) technology as HTV, XTVR heating cables also boast a minimum power retention of 95% after 10 years at maximum operating temperature of 302°F (150°C). They have a design life of 30 years or more and come with a 10-year product warranty. The XTVR heating cables are globally certified for use in hazardous and ordinary areas.
