nVent ERICO Cadweld Certifications

Specifying the right exothermic welding system is critical to the life of a grounding system. Make sure to specify the original, nVent ERICO Cadweld for your next project.

The best connections for a grounding system go beyond just the right type; it’s imperative to ensure the connection system is certified to the most recent and rigorous testing standards.

nVent ERICO Cadweld meets and exceeds the most rigorous testing standards and product certifications for grounding connections. The list of standards that Cadweld complies to is extensive.

This list includes but is not limited to the following standards:

Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Std. 837-2014

IEEE 837 – IEEE Standard for Qualifying Permanent Connections

  • Used in Substation Grounding - was developed specifically for the evaluation and qualification of grounding connectors for use in the rigorous substation environment.
  • It is the most rigorous testing standard for grounding connections that gives assurance the connection will perform over the lifetime of an installation.
  • Multiple nVent ERICO Cadweld connections have passed and exceeded the requirements of the latest edition of the standard. In 2014, a new version of IEEE 837 was published, and this version of the standard has a very demanding testing protocol for testing connections.
