nVent Extends its Range of nVent RAYCHEM Elexant Connected Solutions with a New Heat Trace Controller

LONDON – May 25, 2023 – nVent Electric plc (NYSE:NVT) (“nVent”), a global leader in electrical connection and protection solutions, today announced the introduction of the nVent RAYCHEM Elexant 5010i heat trace controller to the EMEAI and APAC regions. Just as its predecessor, the nVent RAYCHEM NGC-20 controller, the Elexant 5010i controller offers the same pipe freeze protection and process temperature maintenance capabilities, but now for more extreme environments. It is also faster and offers a higher degree of accuracy and data security, with full connectivity.

The Elexant 5010i controller builds upon the legacy of the nVent RAYCHEM NGC-20 controller, which has a large installed base and has been available for more than 15 years. The new Elexant 5010i controller offers additional capabilities to extend the lifespan of critical systems, reducing waste and lowering total installed cost.

Compared to its predecessor, the Elexant 5010i controller has a wider ambient temperature range from -50°C to +60°C and comes with a faster processor, more memory, a larger Bluetooth® range and a digital SIL2 safety limiter. Its refined accuracy of measurement allows for controlling very short instrumentation lines. Furthermore, the password-protected nVent Elexant App for AndroidTM devices ensures a safe and secure configuration.

The Elexant 5010i controller shares some features with the NGC-20. The Elexant 5010i controller includes an automatic self-test function for the entire heat trace circuit. It can be centrally monitored to allow data-analysis and alarm management. Also it has the ability to connect to the client’s central process control system.

“At nVent, we are focused on delivering high value and differentiated solutions for our customers,” said Robert Kuipers, nVent product manager. “The launch of the nVent RAYCHEM Elexant 5010i controller shows our ongoing commitment to create solutions that address the safety, energy efficiency and reliability requirements of our customers today and tomorrow.”

Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things are driven by automation and data exchange, in which interactive system communications play a vitally important role. nVents Elexant heat trace controllers are designed to collect and integrate all data into a data network, while providing customers with intuitive user interfaces and full visibility of their assets. This allows them to use data-driven insights to make more informed decisions and protect what matters most to them. As a result, operators can achieve a lower cost of ownership and improve reliability, making operations in the field easier and more productive than ever before.
