At nVent, we want you to grow with the company. We support your growth with formal and informal development opportunities.
We offer an online library of over 5,000 learning programs to all employees. Some of our employees participate in formal programs like our apprenticeship program. We believe in on-the-job training too. Managers invest time in coaching employees and encourage them to take on new responsibilities.
We’re proud of our employee-driven resource groups, which offer opportunities to build new skills, mentor one another and network across the organization. Employees have recently formed groups dedicated to sustainability, women in the workplace and celebrating our diverse cultural backgrounds.
THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE IDEAS
Hear from nVent employees around the world who are bringing our innovations to life.
REGIONAL COUNSEL, Netherlands
“Positive energy might cost nothing, but produces a lot.”
nVent promotes the positive. For Efrem P., sailing with his co-workers through the canals of Amsterdam was an unforgettable experience. He met many colleagues that day from offices across Europe.
“The company invests in interesting events and training for employees,” said Efrem P., who’s based in Amstelveen, working for the nVent Thermal segment. “This creates positive energy among people in the organization.”
Efrem P's background is international law. For the last two years, he applied his education and experience by negotiating contracts with customers.
“It can be a tough challenge,” he said. “But I like it. I can fully use my skills, language and empathy to obtain the best results.”
ASSEMBLY OPERATOR, USA
“If we have teamwork and respect, we can do anything and everything.”
Joann worked various jobs before she joined nVent at age 42. That was 20 years ago.
“Out of everywhere I’ve ever worked, this is the place that I feel really cares about me,” said Joann, who learned her machine-operating skills on the job. “People here are helpful, they’re thoughtful, they teach you a lot. Once you see what you can learn, you will stay.”
Joann manufactures parts for the nVent Electrical & Fastening Solutions segment.
“I love my job because we do a lot to build the world. Our parts go into buildings to help keep electrical fixtures and other things in place. Nothing’s going to hold up on super glue.”
Her two grown daughters – both serving in the military – are her major interest outside of work.
ASSEMBLY TEAM LEADER, USA
“It’s beautiful to see people from everywhere working together as a team.”
Angela S. calls nVent “a cool place to work.”
“We have people here from so many different countries, so many different backgrounds and cultures. Like me. I live and work in Minnesota, but I’m from Africa.”
She’s worked as a production leader for seven years in the company’s Enclosures segment. Before that, she served a brief stint as an assembly operator in the company’s Anoka, Minnesota, plant.
“I came in the door with no experience in electrical products, but there were plenty of people to guide and support me as I learned,” Angela S. said. “Today, the most rewarding part of my job is seeing new products being built from the ground up, from raw materials to advanced, finished products.”
Angela S. sees herself as a mentor for and champion of her team.
OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS
At nVent, our focus is to provide you with an experience that is simple and offers an opportunity to learn more about where you can go as an employee.
We are looking for individuals who will strengthen our organization and our culture—people who can thrive at nVent as it is today, and help us grow into what we want it to be tomorrow. We seek people who exhibit our core leadership competencies and nVent values.
WE'RE DEDICATED TO OUR COMMUNITIES
We’re committed to investing in and connecting with the communities where we live and work.
The nVent Foundation is built on two key pillars: community and education. We empower you to give to recognized nonprofit and education organizations that align with your interests and passions. The nVent in Action matching program provides matching funds for employee charitable donations and supports nonprofits where groups of employees volunteer with additional grants. nVent also provides leadership grants to nonprofits where an employee serves on the Board of Directors. What’s important to you is important to us.
We are also passionate about advancing educational opportunities within nVent employees’ families. Each year, the nVent Scholarship Program awards post-secondary educational scholarships to children of nVent employees.
Connection is central to what we do, and what better way to connect than to give back?
At nVent, we are committed to equal employment opportunity (EEO) to all persons regardless of age, color, national origin, citizenship status, physical or
mental disability, race, religion, creed, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, genetic information, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by national, federal, state or local law.
