Apprenticeship Program: Tool Mechanic (m/f/d)

What nVent offers

Essential Tasks:

  • Material processing techniques
  • Joining techniques (screwing, pinning)
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic control techniques 
  • CNC programming and CNC optimization 
  • Handling of different tool machines 
  • Quality control (testing, measuring etc.)
  • Production and maintenance of tools of all kinds
  • Manufacturing and modification of fixtures
  • Industrial safety, environmental protection and much more.

The specialized knowledge is imparted in our apprentice workshop (20 months) as well as in the tool shop construction, work preparation, production. 

Basics:

  • Duration of the program: 3.5 years
  • Training location: Straubenhardt, Germany
  • Location of the school: Heinrich-Wieland-Schule in Pforzheim, Germany

The theoretical classes take place on 1.5 days per week at the Heinrich-Wieland-School in Pforzheim. After two years the final examination part 1 takes place. The apprenticeship ends with the final examination part 2. 

Salary:

  • 1st Year: € 1.091,00 pro Monat
  • 2nd Year: € 1.159,00 pro Monat
  • 3rd Year: € 1.261,50 pro Monat
  • 4th Year: € 1.329,50 pro Monat

All trainees at the nVent SCHROFF facility in Straubenhardt receive the same salary with a weekly working time of 37.5 hours.

Requirements

  • Any school degree
  • Manual skills, technical understanding and interest 
  • Personal initiative and commitment    

Possibilities

  • Application in toolmaking or in the production of punched parts
  • Production of punching, cutting and bending tools and devices
  • Set-up and operation of conventional and CNC-controlled machine tools
